FAQs
What makes 7Hooks different from mass-produced retail jigs?
Unlike factory-molded lures, every 7Hooks jig is handcrafted with precision. We use high-grade alloys for perfect balance and premium, corrosion-resistant hooks that maintain their point even after multiple strikes. Our “integrity-first” approach means we don’t skip steps in the curing or painting process, resulting in a more durable, life-like finish.
What kind of hooks do you use in your builds?
We exclusively use ultra-sharp, heavy-duty hooks (such as Mustad or BKK, depending on the model) designed to handle high-tensile strength and aggressive predators. Each hook is selected based on the jig’s specific application to ensure the highest possible hook-up ratio.
Are your jigs suitable for both salt and freshwater?
Yes. While many of our designs are optimized for saltwater environments—featuring multi-layer protective coatings to resist brine and abrasion—they are equally effective for heavy-duty freshwater applications, such as targeting trophy pike or muskie.
How do I choose the right weight for deep-current fishing?
As a general rule for our vertical and slow-pitch jigs, we recommend 100g for every 100 feet of depth, adjusting for current speed. If you are fishing in high-drift areas, we suggest stepping up one weight class to maintain a vertical presentation. For specific technical advice, feel free to contact our team.
Do you offer custom colorways or specialized weights?
We frequently collaborate with professional guides and tournament teams on custom runs. If you have a specific color profile or weight distribution requirement for a particular fishery, please reach out via our [Contact Page] to discuss a bespoke order.
How long does it take to receive handcrafted gear?
Because we prioritize quality over speed, each jig undergoes a rigorous inspection. Standard orders typically ship within 3–5 business days. For custom professional orders, lead times vary based on the complexity of the build.
